Museum Collections
Museum Collections began in 2009 with the project “51 Masterpieces of Italian Renaissance”, commissioned by the Government of South Korea and installed at the Seoul Arts Center. Since then, Bottega Tifernate has created entire pictorial collections for museums, foundations, and permanent or traveling exhibitions, with the same philological and technical care as the original works.Through the Pictographic technique, each painting is recreated on fresco, panel, or canvas, preserving the luminosity, material presence, and emotional depth of the original. This service allows institutions to exhibit masterpieces that cannot be transported, reconstructing collections and pictorial cycles dispersed among museums around the world.
For Museums and Institutions
An ideal solution for museums, public entities, and foundations that wish to create monographic or thematic exhibitions dedicated to the Renaissance, great masters, or specific historical periods. We design collections with visual and didactic unity, capable of dialoguing with contemporary installations and modern museographic standards, while maintaining scientific rigor and accessibility for the public.
For Temporary and Traveling Exhibitions
We produce complete sets for temporary or traveling exhibitions designed to make universal art accessible in new contexts, even far from the originals. The works, recreated in their original scale and coordinated in color and material consistency, allow visitors to experience a unified view of dispersed masterpieces, with attention to transport, mounting, and exhibition durability.
For Permanent Spaces and Thematic Museums
We collaborate in the creation of thematic museums and permanent spaces dedicated to the great Italian masters, reconstructing the foundational collections of Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and others. Each project is bespoke, with meticulous attention to layout, lighting, and atmosphere, recreating the emotion of direct contact with the masterpiece while ensuring preventive conservation and modern usability.
Process and Materials
Each project is developed in close dialogue with curators, art historians, and institutions. It includes philological study, material analysis, photographic and laser scanning surveys, chromatic reconstruction, and manual layered painting with natural pigments. Depending on the exhibition’s purpose, works are executed using the Retouch, Picta, or Pura techniques, ensuring coherence in scale, color, and finish across the collection.
With Museum Collections, Bottega Tifernate offers curators and institutions a concrete way to reunite, preserve, and share the masterpieces of the past, creating coherent, authoritative, and memorable exhibition experiences.
